Condolences, if necessary, to the family of the missing worker. My comments are not a justification or an excuse for Joseph Stack’s actions. It is an attempt at understanding because his suicide note is complex. His last paragraphs on going out and attacking the [...]

Turns out it was only two months ago, which tells me my short term memory is currently [...]

One thing that has remained true since the inception of this republic: Our leaders do not trust the populace. It has been that way since the beginning. Even a quick overview of The Federalist Papers, which are a collection of 3 of the Founders’ arguments in favor of the Constitution, reveals that our whole system [...]

President Obama will address the nation this evening from West Point Military Academy. He will announce an escalation of 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan but also frame for the American people a timetable for a later withdrawal of all forces. The balance beam politics of this speech will continue what is a difficult week for [...]
Over three events, Obama will dine with fellow spouses, take in a performance at a public magnet school, and go to a museum, highlighting her role as a kind of unofficial arts czar and champion of arts education. For Obama, whose next major event is going to Copenhagen and making Chicago’s case to host the [...]
